Deutsches Haus: 5 Things We Know So Far

The German Olympic Sports Federation (DOSB) has announced exciting details about the Germany Hospitality House, Deutsches Haus, at Paris 2024.

What We Know: Location

Deutsches Haus, or German House, will open its doors at Stade Jean-Bouin in southwest Paris, in the 16th arrondissement.

In over 30 years of hosting German House, DOSB has never selected a sports stadium as its venue - there's a first for everything! The stadium is the permanent home of the Stade Français Paris (SFP) professional rugby team, which happens to be the most successful French clubs of the modern era.

Stade Jean-Bouin was entirely renovated in 2012 and can host up to 20,000 guests at one time, although German House has confirmed it expects to welcome far fewer fans each day.

What We Know: It's a Olympic and Paralympic Venue

The German Olympic Sports Federation has confirmed that Deutsches Haus will be open at Stade Jean-Bouin for both the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games:

During the Olympic Games, from July 26 to August 11, 2024, German House expects to welcome 1,000 guests each day, in roughly 32,000 sqft of event space.

During the Paralympic Games, from August 28 to September 8, 2024, German House expects to welcome 500 guests each day, in almost 11,000 sqft of event space.

What We Know: It's Public

German House will be open to the public, as well as to German athletes, and guests from the media, business and politics.

The German Olympic Sports Federation has yet to announce if tickets will be required to visit Deutsches Haus and if there will be an associated fee.

What We Know: The Venue is Multi-Level

The DOSB has a dynamic experience planned for fans and athletes alike. Here's more on the venue architecture from the DOSB press release:

"The centerpiece of the appearance will be the "Main Lounge" with a gallery (mezzanine) on the third level. One floor above, the "Open Seats" - an open hospitality area with a view of the interior of the stadium - serve as media lounges and areas for content production, among other things. Private business boxes are also available on the fifth floor. As an extension of the interior, spectator stands will be built over with terraces on various levels in order to create usable outdoor areas. The playing field is also to be integrated into the event concept."
